The revised Queensland's Handwriting Made Easy series has been developed using guidelines from The Teaching of Handwriting - A Handbook and The Teaching of Handwriting in Years 4 to 7.

The workbooks in the series have been written around themes relating to key learning ares in the curriculum. The themes will encourage further writing practice and follow-on work in the classroom.  

Letters are introduced in family clusters of joins, exits and movements. The exercises encourage students to track, trace or copy letters and text. Words, sentences and stories are modelledi n various text types, using the Beginner's Alphabet and Queensland Modern Cursive Handwriting.

Each Queensland's Handwriting Made Easy Workbook includes:

• a comprehensive teaching program
• a slope card to help students maintain the required 10° slope of cursive handwriting
• a skills checklist, both for parents and teachers to assess students' progress in handwriting and for students to develop a sense of achievement as their handwriting skills improve
